The Service Station of PT Lintas Sinergi Andalan is carrying out repairs and maintenance on the floor of the Liferaft service area. What is it for?

It turns out that setting standards and requirements for service stations that perform floor maintenance is included in IMO Resolution A.761(18) concerning Inflatable Liferafts, to ensure that the equipment remains safe and fit for use. All the requirements stated in this document are mandatory. This means that every service station must comply with the technical provisions without exception.

The service area floor must be clean and smooth, and must not be rough, rusty, or contaminated. Equipment and facilities must be adequate. And only certified technicians are allowed to carry out the servicing.

According to the provisions of IMO Resolution A.761(18) Annex 1.2, Liferaft servicing must not be performed on board the vessel. Liferafts may only be serviced at officially approved service stations, such as PT Lintas Sinergi Andalan, which has been authorized and complies with IMO standards.
